by Virginia Earl
He sneaked into
Our house
Like a guilty mouse
With a smirky smile
And perks on a pile
For awhile
And while I sat
On my mother’s lap
Wearing baby fat
In white silk
Around that ilk
Dressed in a dash
For a bash
Moving like sap
I heard loud voices
Prepping proud poses
Sam had a plan
What a man
I thought to myself
I will remember this
White flash in a dash
As I looked away
This day
In a flash
Without a way
For a smile
While prepping away
For awhile
For one single smile
